"Wall Street Smarts"
a 1998 bay overo gelding, is also by "Wallaby Bar" AQHA. He is very athletic,
and earns his keep as a jumper down by the beach. His gaits are smooth and elastic,
his mouth light, his mind sharp. He is naturally aware of his feet and what is
under them. He was bought by the first person who came to look at him. She loves
him, and had been looking for two years for the perfect horse. While breaking him
to ride, I felt like he was exceptionally well suited for working cowhorse/roping events.
After two years I contacted his owner to see how he was doing and she sent me a long enthusiastic reply. Here is the gist of what she wrote: "I am so happy with Smarty and I really couldn't love him more than I do now. He has been so great and will just do anything I want him to. I took him to a couple schooling shows and he did real well... we got a first... I also took him team penning a few times and he was AWESOME with the cows. I wanted to start roping with him, but my friend that was gonna do it with me moved away....but I could throw a rope off of him and drag the fake steer around and he could care less..it didn't even bother him (I even accidentally roped his feet and hit his ears with the rope and he just stood there like "did something hit me?"!!!) His favorite thing though is going out on the trails....he LOVES it!! He would go all day if he could. Everyone always tells me "what a neat looking horse." |

His sire,
"Wallaby Bar" AQHA was sired by the Hall of Famer and AQHA Legend, Sonny Dee Bar. His dam, Wallaby Sis was AQHA Congress
Hi Point All Around winner in 1982. She was full sister to Wallaby, (earner of 340 halter points, in the 1960's!)
Wallaby Bar was bred by Dean Landers, who stood Sonny Dee Bar most of his life. The fact that Dean kept Wallaby Bar until he was two, and kept him intact should speak volumes as to the caliber of horse he was. Unfortunately Wallaby Bar suffered a broken pelvis in a nasty trailer accident at age two, ending his show career after earning only two Westen Pleasure points. "Wally" was then sold to a couple who almost starved him to death, then to another couple who kept him so fat he foundered and died in his teens. Though never well promoted, he was an absolute treasure, and I am very glad to have had the opportunity to discover this horse and breed to him before he died. |

His dam, "Misters First Lady" is a World Champion producer, a proven broodmare who consistently outproduces herself. She was shown at halter as a weanling and yearling. She is a halter point earner and futurity money winner. She placed first under all six judges in weanling fillies at the Paso Robles "Wine and Roses" Paint O' Rama in 1993. She was broke to ride in a snaffle as a two year old, but has primarily been used as a broodmare. Her latest foal is a stunning colt by Texas Legacy foaled April 9, 2004. Texas Legacy is Impressive and Sonny Dee Bar, and Barlink Machoman and so is Misters First Lady. The baby should be an asset to any breeding program and a consistent producer of quality conformation, temperament and athletic ability. |

His full sister, "Wall Street Miss" is a 1997 bay breedingstock mare by "Wallaby Bar," AQHA, by Sonny Dee Bar. Her pedigree is absolutely packed with AQHA Hall of Famers, Paint and QH Lifetime Leading Sires and World Champions and World Champion producers, both halter and performance. She is absolutely balanced and extremely feminine. It is rare to find one with as soft and natural a lope as she has. Note the clean throatlatch. You can see in the thumbnail to the left how she looks when she is fit, and how nicely she moves. Very fluid and soft. ALL of Misters First Lady's babies have clean necks. Neither she nor her babies had their necks sweated before these photos were taken. She is an outSTANDing performance broodmare prospect, with enough halter lines laced in her pedigree to make her babies beautiful as well as talented. She is in foal to Zipparock for a mid-February foal, 2005. |
